The 1960s singing sensations Paul Revere & the Raiders along with the Cowsills will perform their classic hits during a concert at the Eastside Events Center inside Eastside Cannery Casino at 5255 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, Nev. on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 8:30 p.m. The groups will combine music with warmth and spontaneity to create highly polished and entertaining acts.
Formed in the 1960s, Paul Revere & the Raiders were the first rock group signed by Columbia Records. The group traveled to California to establish themselves in the musical scene and starred in Dick Clark’s television show “Where the Action is!” Boasting 23 consecutive hit singles, Paul Revere & the Raiders are responsible for hits like “Louie Louie,” “Kicks,” “Hungry,” Great Airplane Strike,” and “Good Thing.”
The real-life inspiration behind the hit television series “The Partridge Family,” The Cowsills were one of the biggest pop acts of the 1960s. The group was formed by four brothers – Bill, Bob, Barry and John – who began performing at school dances in their hometown of Newport, Rhode Island. After landing a regular performing gig in 1965, they recorded “All I Really Wanna Be Is Me.” Upon signing with MGM in 1967, brother Paul, sister Susan and mother Barbara joined the group and released their first hit single, “The Rain, the Park and Other Things.” The group went on to perform on The Ed Sullivan Show and had their own NBC television special in 1968. The following year, they released the multi-million selling title song from “Hair” and the theme song for the television series “Love American Style.” The Cowsills will perform together with Bob, Susan Paul and John.
